Composition 101

ISO= 800, f-stop= f/5.6, Shutter speed= 1/100 sec, Mode= manual
This photo has strong composition because it is showing an alternative camera angle.  The chandelier is shot from beneath, at a close angle to show the beautiful shapes that someone wouldn't normally see if they were looking at it from a distance.  The image is eye catching because the original picture's colors are simplified so that the beauty behind all of the glistening lights and original coloration can shine through.
ISO= 2000, f-stop= f/5.6, Shutter speed= 1/100 sec, Mode= manual
This photo shows strong composition because it illustrates the rule of thirds.  This image is eye catching because if you were to split the image into three sections and look at each section individually, each division would have its own story.  The photo is balanced by both the colors and positions of the objects, which helps compliment the subject of the picture.
ISO= 3200, f-stop= f/5.6, Shutter speed= 1/125 sec, Mode= manual
This photograph shows strong composition because it exemplifies the theme of patterns and lines.  The vibrant colors of the picture really outline and put emphasis on lines and patterns in the picture.  This image is eye catching to the viewer because the brown branches flatter the golden clock both through its color and blur effect.

  1. You have an interesting vision that seems at once complicated but simple. Your use of many objects fascinates me. I'll be curious to see where you take this.
